Construction - Building Stone
Stone is a natural material with high strength and thermal properties, mainly used for building interior and exterior walls, paving, etc. The stone we use mainly in Paros, and in the Cyclades in general, comes in three colours: black, white and red. This material stands the test of time, is easy to maintain and has a high thermal capacity. It fits and blends beautifully with the natural environment. That is why it is one of the most reliable construction materials.
Cement Mortar
Cement mortar is a layer material with cement as the basic material, with which we fill specific surfaces: floors, terraces, exterior surfaces, etc. It is also used as a surface grinding technique. There are two techniques, simple and pressed cement mortar. In the Cyclades, pressed cement mortar is the most common, because it started historically on the Aegean islands. In the pressed cement mortar, first we put primer and insulating material to bond the floor to the cement mortar, so that it does not get air, and then a net to make a body with the cement mortar, which comes right after. And finally, we apply a varnish that is resistant to time and weather.
Oil Paintings
The painting process we use consists of four stages: scrubbing the walls, washing with a pressure washer, priming and finally applying paint twice. The paint we use internally is plastic or watercolour, while externally it is acrylic. The Cycladic beauty in architecture, consists of the painted white houses with blue windows, symbolizing the Greek flag. The white colour was chosen because it serves the needs of hygiene, in summer it reduces the temperature that passes inside the house, and for aesthetic reasons.
Pergolas
The construction of pergolas is an integral part of the architecture of the islands, providing not only an aesthetic upgrade, but also essential protection from extreme weather conditions. The pergola acts as a natural shield against the summer heat, providing shade and coolness to the exterior of your home.
Roof Waterproofing
Roof waterproofing is one of the most critical procedures to protect your building from water infiltration and prevent future damage. By applying specialized waterproofing materials, you can ensure the long-term durability of your roof in all weather conditions, whether it’s heavy rainfall, snow or even the high temperatures of summer.
